A&W franchise reviews

Here’s what A&W franchise owners are saying

I was born and raised in Forest City. I worked at the A&W when I was in high school, and I heard it was for sale. Once we started looking at the numbers, we decided it was an opportunity that was too good to pass up.

A&W is so prompt at getting us what we need when we need it. When we opened our second store, they sent people to our store to help train all the new employees we hired. They stayed for a couple of weeks to get everybody familiar with everything. When you’re opening a new business, you have so many things to get figured out. Just having them there to help was great.

Their focus is on bottom-line profitability, not top-line sales. We pay them based on the top line, but we still have to make a living based on the bottom line. Our leadership people now are very, very conscious of that. The first thing they ask is, “Does it make money for the franchisees?” We have a great partnership with A&W corporate.

I’m proud of owning an A&W. It’s got a neat history. I like that they have never changed the quality of what they serve. They like the fast, fresh food. That’s what the brings the customers in. People love A&W, they really do. It’s worth the investment.

We’re part of the community, we support the community and they support us. We are very optimistic and we’ve seen positive results and exceeded our own goals, because of the support that they give us and the common sense direction that the brand has been going.

Franksville, WI

What’s exciting about A&W is they’re not in it to turn a quick buck, flip the brand and sell it off. They’re not just making decisions for the short-term, it’s all long-term. A lot of the people working at corporate are like family with each other, and I feel very secure knowing that they have a vested interest in what I do.

St. Helena and Lodi, CA

We control our own destiny. With the corporate office and the franchisees, everybody truly has Root Beer in their veins. They’re passionate about what they do and they get it done. Every quarter since the franchisee group bought A&W, we’ve been up in sales. That’s a testimony that we’re heading in the right direction.

Bobby Lance

Multi-unit owner in Florida

I think A&W supports us well, and they cooperate with you individually to let you do what you need to do. It’s not as expensive to get into as some of the other brands. It’s affordable and you can build your reputation on it. We have friendly service, good employees and a good reputation, and I’m proud of that.
